she'll be snuggly warm

For those of you who don't know, we are expecting our third child at the end of the month. A baby girl. I have made a baby blanket for each of my children. For this one I used the WHAT A BUNCH OF SQUARES pattern from the Denyse Schmidt book QUILTS. I enlarged the pattern pieces 200% vs the recommended 400% and left out  a few squares to make it crib size. For the back I used the basic idea from the A DAY AT THE BEACH quilt from her book.

I never would have thought purple and lime green went so well together. I fell in love with the color combination and decided to use it when I made her  a snuggly flannel receiving blanket and matching burp rags.

I can't wait to wrap her in them.

2 - I'm so excited to see pictures! It looks so good!! I bet you are so ready to wrap that baby in her blankie instead of having her squashed up in your belly. Keep posting. I know you have more pictures. I'm so happy you've got this blog, it makes you seem not quite so far away. (Comment this)
