so pleased
i finished up my robot quilt today. i just love how he turned out.
the quilting made such a hugh difference and burying all those strings was not painful at all. it did take a couple of hours but i could do it while watching tv. thanks again kathy for the tip. if i ever make a robot like this again i will probably do a bit more quilting on the robot itself. but i do love him as he is.
here is close up of the head and some of the quilting.
here is the back. i love how you can see the robot in the quilting.

You should be pleased. He is absolutely wonderful and has really come alive with the quilting.
That quilt is truly precious, and the quilting looks great! Awesome!
i came across your flickr site when i searched for a baby quilt. i love this quilt. i noticed you live north of seattle. cool. we’re practically neighbors..lol. great job!
Beautiful finish. I LOVE that he’s asymmetrical in the patch design and colors. It adds a fabulous sparkle to the quilt.
That is wonderful. I love the colors and the robot is adorable.
I just stumbled across you blog (I can’t remember how) and am very inspired!
I love this robot quilt. Did you applique the finished robot onto the background, or piece him into it?
Thanks-
Ginger
ginger,
the robot was pieced together, it wasn’t to painful, really. i sketched him out on graph paper giving me an approx size for each piece, then got started piecing him together one bodypart at a time. my goal was to have him a bit wonky and scrappy so i didn’t need to do to much measuring or fuss with it too much.
I really love it! Would you mind if I stole your design idea to make one for my son for christmas? pretty please?
ginger,
i’d love to see some more robot action out there. send me a link if you do.
