Meet Bruce

This is Bailey’s friend Bruce. Bruce and his overalls are made from 100% cotton Worsted Weight yarn.

Here is Bailey in her hooded jacket and Bruce in his roll brim hat and jacket. The hood and hat both have ear holes so their ears dont have to be squished inside.

These guys and their clothes were made with the Rabbit and Bear Knitting pattern that I am working on.

Will it fit?

As I was going through all of my baby stuff from my other children I came upon these two tiny hats. I had made them for each of my children to bring them home from the hospital. Realizing that I hadn’t made one for this baby I quickly got to work and made this one for her. It seems way too small. I used the other hats to figure out the size, it is about the same but I haven’t had a newborn in 41/2 years. It makes me a little nervous. I used some random DK yarn I had in my stash and size 3 needles. I got the stripe pattern from the Random Stripe Generator (thank you Jess for finding it). It has a small roll brim with crochet loop on top.

We will have to just wait and see if it fits. Cross your fingers.

she’ll be snuggly warm

For those of you who don’t know, we are expecting our third child at the end of the month. A baby girl. I have made a baby blanket for each of my children. For this one I used the WHAT A BUNCH OF SQUARES pattern from the Denyse Schmidt book QUILTS. I enlarged the pattern pieces 200% vs the recommended 400% and left out  a few squares to make it crib size. For the back I used the basic idea from the A DAY AT THE BEACH quilt from her book.

I never would have thought purple and lime green went so well together. I fell in love with the color combination and decided to use it when I made her  a snuggly flannel receiving blanket and matching burp rags.

I can’t wait to wrap her in them.

I just couldn’t resist

Well my blog isn’t quite organized but I couldn’t resist posting today. I wanted to introduce Bailey. She was born January 6, 2006. Bailey and her dress are made from 100% Cotton Worsted Weight yarn. I made her using my Bear and Rabbit pattern.  This pattern is in its final stages and will be available to purchase in the next month or so.
